On Ashek hyper-gifted multi-instrumentalist Tim Rabyorn brings to life the music of worldly and spiritual love from Greece, the Middle East, and Central Asia. The album features both vocal and instrumental music spanning several centuries and thousands of miles, but united by one common theme: the longing for true love—whether physical or spiritual. The album's title derives from the "ashiklar," a unique group of traveling Turkish bards whose name means those who are "in love" with God, and the album really reflects this longing for union with the devine, and far from being sentimental, contains some of the most mysterious and somber works in Rayborn's entire catalog.
